Klamath County Public Health clarifies its numbers

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Klamath County Public Health (KCPH) officials would like to provide more transparency about the numbers associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. All numbers provided in COVID-19 updates reflect the actual number of test results received to date.

For Friday, April 10, there were 578 negative results, coupled with 25 positive results, creating a total of 603. These numbers do not reflect the total number of tests sent to laboratories, but pending processing for results, by all medical providers in Klamath County.

KCPH’s numbers often do not coincide with those of the Oregon Health Authority, because local positive test results are provided to the community in a more timely fashion.

Anyone having questions about COVID-19 symptoms or testing should call their primary care provider. General COVID-19 questions can be answered by KCPH at 541.882.8846.
