How many cases of COVID-19 are in Klamath?

At this time, there is only one confirmed case in Klamath County. It is related to travel in an area of outbreak.

How can I get tested?

Testing is limited. There is not enough laboratory capacity to immediately test everyone in the United States. Most people who contract COVID-19 have very slight symptoms. There is no known treatment. In most cases, testing will not make a difference.

What are the symptoms?

Current symptoms reported for patients with COVID-19 have included mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.

It sounds a lot like flu. Should I get another flu shot?

People who have not had a flu shot should get one. The flu is still making people sick. Getting a second flu shot will not help prevent COVID-19.

I have symptoms. What should I do?

If you feel like you need medical attention, call your provider first. Arrangements can be made to ensure you have a mask on to prevent sharing germs with others.

If you don’t feel like you need medical attention, stay home until its been 72 hours since your last symptom stopped.
