November 30, 2017, 5:00 PM @ Downtown Klamath County Library
Take in the breathtaking vistas of one of the coldest places on Earth with a screening and discussion of the documentary Antarctica: A Year on Ice on Thursday, November 30th at 5pm!
This screening is the first in a series of nature-themed films, workshops and other activities for all ages brought to you by Bird Wicks from the Great Outdoor Alliance each month through July 2018.
Antarctica: A Year on Ice puts you in the parkas of researchers living in Antarctica year-round, despite harsh conditions and months of winter darkness. The film is rated PG and runs for one hour, 31 minutes.
Wicks spent her childhood roaming the forests of southern Oregon while her father climbed trees to collect cones. As a scientist, educator, and artist, Wicks derives great joy from introducing kids, adults, and families to birds, science, and the many ways nature is intertwined in our daily lives.
