Dust off your favorite old games and join us for Retro Video Game Night at the downtown Klamath County Library on Tuesday, November 28th at 5:30 pm. Just because you’re a grownup doesn’t mean you have to put the video games away, right? We’re bringing our own collection of games because we’re giant nerds: fan favorites like Super Smash Bros., Super Mario Kart, GoldenEye 007, WWF: No Mercy, and much more. (Feel free to bring your favorites, too! We’ll have a Super Nintendo, an N64, and a PlayStation2 available to play on.) Please note that this video game event is intended for adults and may include games that predate ESRB age ratings as well as games rated to have content inappropriate for children under 13. For more information, please visit the Information and Reference desk at the downtown library or call 541-882-8894.

  14. Antarctica: A Year on Ice Screening & Discussion

November 30, 2017, 5:00 PM @ Downtown Klamath County Library

Take in the breathtaking vistas of one of the coldest places on Earth with a screening and discussion of the documentary Antarctica: A Year on Ice on Thursday, November 30th at 5pm! This screening is the first in a series of nature-themed films, workshops and other activities for all ages brought to you by Bird Wicks from the Great Outdoor Alliance each month through July 2018. Antarctica: A Year on Ice puts you in the parkas of researchers living in Antarctica year-round, despite harsh conditions and months of winter darkness. The film is rated PG and runs for one hour, 31 minutes. Wicks spent her childhood roaming the forests of southern Oregon while her father climbed trees to collect cones. As a scientist, educator, and artist, Wicks derives great joy from introducing kids, adults, and families to birds, science, and the many ways nature is intertwined in our daily lives. For more information, stop by the Youth Services desk or call 541-882-8894.
