The Klamath County Treasurer's Investment Pool (TIP) is a voluntary investment vehicle operated by the Klamath County Treasurer. The TIP also has involuntary participants based on the receipt of property taxes by the local special district. All local governments in Klamath County are eligible to participate.
The TIP's objective is to provide a safe, liquid, and competitive investment option for local government pursuant to Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 294. The TIP's investment objectives are, in priority order:
- Conformance with federal, state, and other legal requirements
- Preservation of capital and the protection of investment principal
- Liquidity to meet operating requirements
- Market rate of return throughout budgetary and economic cycles
The TIP offers 100% liquidity to its participants.
The TIP lets local governments use the Klamath County Treasurer's resources to safely invest their funds while enjoying the economies of scale available from a $130 million pooled fund investment portfolio.
The TIP is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment company. The TIP investment guidelines are spelled out in the TIP Investment Policy. For more information on the TIP please contact us if you have any questions.
Resolution & Transaction Authorization Form
To participate in the TIP the Klamath County Treasurer's Office requires a signed resolution and a transaction authorization form. The resolution needed depends on the level of participation in the TIP.
Please note: On October 15, 2013 the TIP will terminate all voluntary participation by local governments. The Treasurer's Office will be refunding all funds held for participants to them on October 18, 2013. At that time the TIP will only handle funds for Klamath County and property tax receipts for local governments.
